My Thoughts on the Influenster #staycation VoxBox

What is Influenster?

So for those of you that don't know, Influenster is a company that sends free samples to a selected number of people per campaign to try and review. The more you review, the more you are eligible for up and coming VoxBoxes. This is what Influenster calls their campaign boxes. The cool part is it's not always sample size. I've gotten several full size bottles of shampoo and conditioner (IDK why but I get shampoo a lot) as well as bags of chips, butter, you name it, they probably have a sample campaign for it.

You get opportunities to earn badges for each box as well as for each product in the box by performing certain tasks such as sharing your loot on social media, following the companies that provided the samples and for reviewing the products. BE CAREFUL. If you don't fulfill the voxbox badge, you could lose out on opportunities to earn more boxes in the future.

If you would like to join Influenster it's free and super easy. Just follow this link to get started!

The #staycation VoxBox

This VoxBox came with a full set of imPress Press-On Nails number 72043, Shea Moisture African Black Soap Bamboo Charcoal Hydrating Gelee Moisturizer, Crest Gum & Enamel Repair toothpaste, Completely bare Moisturizing no-bump Shave Gel, and eva-nyc Mane Magic 10-In-1 Primer. Most of the products in this box were travel sized samples. The imPRESS nail set was full size of course. The name of this campaign is fitting seeing as this is all stuff that could be used for an at home spa day.

imPRESS Press-On Nails

I have used this brand before and it's a great press on nail. They last up to two weeks as long as you size them right. Make sure you have no oil on your nail beds when you apply these. I suggest washing your hands, then swipe your nail beds with some nail polish remover just to get any excess oils. I also recommend doing them right before bed. This way there is no chance of getting them wet and the sticky tabs have a better chance of lasting longer. These are great for people with short nails like me that don't always have the time or money to go get a manicure done.

Shea Moisture African Black Soap Bamboo Charcoal Hydrating Gelee Moisturizer

I was surprised by this moisturizer. It didn't leave my skin feeling oily and it wasn't dry either. I was a little worried about the African black soap in it making my skin look darker but it really didn't. My skin was soft and supple and I have had no issues with breakouts after using this moisturizer. There was enough for me to use it twice on both my face and neck and I plan to buy a full size to try it out a little longer. My daughter uses their African Black Soap Body Wash for her psoriasis and it's helped clear up a few patches to where they are less visible.

Crest Gum & Enamel Repair Toothpaste

I have sensitive teeth and for awhile I had bad gums. Let's just say at a certain point and time I couldn't afford to get major dental work done and some major damage ensued. Luckily, $3500 later, most of my dental issues are remedied... All but the sensitive teeth. My gums occasionally bleed if I overdo it but not because of health reasons. I also use Crest whitening strips which can cause my teeth to become ultra sensitive from time to time. So, I got this box probably on Thursday of last week and I have been using the toothpaste since. I can tell you that my teeth are slowly becoming less sensitive. My front tooth is the worst when it comes to cold colds and hot hots. These last few days I haven't had any issues and that's awesome because as you can tell from my last post, I love hot tea before bed..

Completely Bare Moisturizing no-bump Shave Gel

I actually really like this shave gel. I have issues with shaving my legs and finding something that doesn't leave me dry and itchy which a ton of razor burn. I have really sensitive skin on my legs. This stuff has been the best stuff I've used thus far and I have tried everything. Not even Coochy works for my skin and that's supposed to be some of the best stuff available.I highly recommend this shave gel and this will be my go to from now on.

eva-nyc Mane Magic 10-IN-1 Primer

I was a little hesitant to use this leave-in because lately my hair has been a little on the oily side. I don't know if its a change in the weather or a change in my dry shampoo but I'm not happy about the oil. I took the plunge and did it anyways. I know eva-nyc to be a good brand that is budget friendly. In fact the box came with a postcard to let me know that you could get two full sized bottles of this Primer for $9.99 at Costco. That's a hell of a deal. So, I tried it out, I liked it a lot (I may or may not have already made a trip to Costco). It smells good and it's not super oily. I have a combination of think fine hair so product can really run a muck if I don't do it right. My hair felt soft and there was no trace of flyaways. Just a heads up, a little goes a long way.

Overall Thoughts:

I really enjoyed trying everything out in this box. My favorite items were the Crest toothpaste and the imPRESS nails. That's not to say everything else wasn't great, those were just the two things I liked most.

Fab Fit Fun Fall Box

My Thoughts on the Fab Fit Fun Fall Box

Disclaimer: This blog post contains affiliate links. I may earn a small commission to fund my coffee drinking habit if you use these links to make a purchase. You will not be charged extra, and you’ll keep me supplied in caffeine. It’s a win for everyone, really.

Initial Response

Wow! I was so excited. This is my first full box from Fab Fit Fun. Lyndsay had told me how many incredible things she had received in past boxes and man, she wasn't kidding! This box is packed with some really great items. The cost to me for this box was $49.99, but the total value of the contents was $307! It was truly shocking. You can get $10 off your first box here making your first box $39.99.

This Fall box contained a few items that I already knew were coming because Fab Fit Fun gives you the option to pick out a few select items yourself. The items I picked out were the Bluetooth CYLO COBRA headphones, the Alfred Tea Pot (which I have used every night since I got it), and the Crown 6 piece brush set. The rest was all a mystery to me until the box arrived.

Crown Brush 6 Piece Brush Set

This is a nice brush set, but if I'm being completely honest, I didn't like the carrier they came in and I tossed it. I also think the bristles are a little too stiff for my personal liking. I'm hoping they soften up a bit after I clean them. The quality of the brushes is good. I do love the ergonomic feature added to the brush handles that make keeping a brush steady easy. There hasn't been any bristle fallout which is a big plus for me and application is exactly where I place it. Overall, these are good brushes.

Alfred Teapot

I love love LOVE this teapot. I enjoy drinking hot tea before bed. I don't have a preference when it comes to loose leaf or teabag but out of the loose leaf tea strainers I've used, I've always preferred teapots to in cup strainers. Not only is this teapot adorable, but its highly functional. It'll hold about one to one and a half mugs of tea at a time. The strainer doesn't leave a lot of tea residue in the bottom of my mug, in fact, almost none! I absolutely love this teapot and plan to use it for a long time.

CYLO COBRA Bluetooth Wireless Earbuds

These earbuds are not bad. They come with two sises of rubber inner ear holder thingies (I honestly don't know what they are called). I went with the smaller size because the larger set hurt after about thirty minutes of wear. They aren't noise canceling but seeing as they are inner ear, the do cancel out quite a bit. They are great for when I go to the library to study and don't want to wear my big over the ear set, or when I'm at work and need to bust through some spreadsheets without distractions. My only qualm with these buds is that there is no clip for the back of your shirt like I've seen with other brands, so if you take the left out it kind of gets pulled to the right because of the weight of the controls located on the right. It's not a deal breaker though.

Grown Alchemist Polishing Facial Exfoliant: Pink Grapefruit & Glucomannan Extract

Oh my Goodness... I feel like a total Goddess when I use this exfoliant. The FFF magazine says it's gentle enough for daily use and leaves your skin feeling like butter. This stuff is luxurious. I had a few rough patches on my forehead and this helped clear them up quickly. It smells great too. Not so much like grapefruit, but there's another product I used to love that I got as a sample once that smelled similar. I use it on my face and decolletage while I'm in the shower.

touch in SOL Metallist Liquid Foil Lipstick Duo in "Penny"

The glittery gloss is a cute color and while I like the liquid lip color in the tube, it really just isn't the color for me. I did leave it on to test out the formula while at home (whilst getting some odd looks from the boyfriend because it was the only makeup I had on...) and even though it's a liquid lip it does hold moisture so I wasn't left with gross crusty liquid lipstick lips. That's a huge plus and because of that, I'm considering buying one of the other colors available by this brand. Overall, it's a great product, just not loving the color.

I mean, can you really not like a beautyblender®? I've loved these little makeup sponges since the first time I was introduced to them. The quality is always worth the few extra dollars to get this baby over some of the knockoff sponges. It's super soft, easy to clean, and leaves my foundation looking flawless. I really don't think there's much more I can say to hype them up or tell you how much I love them.

GLAMGLOW BUBBLESHEET™ Oxygenating Deep Cleanse Mask

Who knew that Glamglow now had sheet masks!? This was super exciting to see in my box. I've been a fan of Glamglow for some time now. I was first introduced to the brand by Jeffrey Star. This is kind of the first of it's kind in regards to bubble sheet masks. I haven't seen any others like it. This one touted that it contains green tea leaf and the sheet mask itself is bamboo charcoal infused. You only have to keep this one on for three minutes before removing it. I suggest using a wet wash clothe to remove the remaining bubbles because they will continue to oxygenize and take forever to remove otherwise. My skin felt much fresher after using this mask and that was after using the Grown alchemist in the shower. It made for a great combo.

Simply Whimsical Set of 2 Tea Towels

Joe can tell you how obsessed I am with tea towels. He always steals them from the kitchen and uses them instead of just getting a napkin. I mean. I buy super cute ones for each season so, can you blame him though. These are definitely something I would buy if I had seen them in store. and I will probably buy some more from their website because they are so cute and actually the cotton is pretty soft. I love the grey and white and the geometric lines. It's a clean look that even though I got them for fall, I can tie into almost any season.

SKIN&CO Roma Blue in Capri Shower Gel

This stuff... Okay, so I'm going to use the description I gave Lynsday and she thought it was hilarious, but it really gave you an idea of what this stuff smells like (really good BTW). So, remember that cliff in Twilight where Jacob and the wolf pack jump in order to assert themselves and Bella ends up jumping in order to feel Edward again? This shower gel, is what I imagine that cliff side smells like. It's outdoorsy but also fresh in a way that us ladies tend to enjoy. It smells breathtaking. I feel like I've gone on a light enjoyable hike and I get really sad when I open my eyes and realize I'm still in the shower.

So My Overall Thoughts:

I really enjoyed this box. All of it is stuff that I will enjoy using and I wouldn't have thought to bought or splurge on. If you like getting stuff for way less than you paid for, as I do, I think you should try signing up for Fab Fit Fun. That being said, I have the opportunity to give away three starter boxes and all you have to pay is the $5 shipping. If you remember from my last Fab Fit Fun post, I received the starter box so check out that post and if you are interested, send me an email and I can share the opportunity with you too!

If you want to dive right in and get a full sized box you can get $10 off here! That makes your very first full sized Fab Fit Fun Seasonal Box!

Misa Jane Boutique Haul

Misa Jane Haul!

Disclaimer: This blog post contains affiliate links. I may earn a small commission to fund my coffee drinking habit if you use these links to make a purchase. You will not be charged extra, and you’ll keep me supplied in caffeine. It’s a win for everyone, really.

Why I love Misa Jane

Some Background

Okay, so I was introduced to the Misa Jane Boutique by a coworker who happens to be the husband of Sara, the owner of Misa Jane Boutique, so I have had the privilege of watching the boutique grow. The boutique is named after their first daughter Misa Jane who aspires to take the fashion world by storm when she herself gets older. All of the items in this online boutique are fashion forward, well made, and high quality. They are hand picked by Sara and Misa.

The Great Cause Behind the Scenes

If you go to the "Our Story" page on the Misa Jane website you will get a more in depth look into why Sara is so passionate about her cause. Sara believes in the empowerment of women and strives to make the lives of women who fall victim to domestic violence and sexual assault better. Therefore, a portion of the proceeds from your purchase are donated to supporting these women and their children get out of these hard situations and move on to better lives.

Now On with the Haul!

Okay okay. So here's what I got from the Misa Jane store.

Stripe Knotted Top

I love this top! It's so comfortable and roomy. The know is sewn in giving it a little extra flare and keeping it with and maybe a little ahead of the current trend of knotting all our tops. The black and white makes this top easy to match with jeans, nice slacks, or even a cute skater skirt. The stripes help give the illusion that you are slimmer than you really are. I'm wearing a medium because, well because I gained some content weight over the last three years. Ha ha!

Madeleine Navy Wrap Top

Oh my goodness! I got sooo many compliments on this top. Left and right people were asking me where I got it. I'm not even kidding. It's so cute. It's roomy and because it's a wrap top it's easy to adjust until it's just right. I wouldn't recommend throwing it in the dryer though. Mine got super wrinkly. lol

Harlow Vintage Ruffle Lace Top

This top is so feminine. It's got the puffed sleeves, the lace, and the frills and ruffles. The materials are not scratchy and the neckline is not too tight. I didn't get a photo but the buttons detail at the top of the back is also super feminine and cute. This top is also great with both jeans and slacks. It transitions well from Spring/Summer to Fall.

Reagan Cross Back Floral Dress

This is another piece that makes a great transition from Spring/Summer to Fall. For the fall I paired it with leggings and boots. Either way it's still feminine. The material is extremely soft, almost like a fleece but lighter. It can be worn like a shift dress or as I did with a belt. I love that there's so many ways to wear it without getting bored.

How to Get in on These Great Items

You can find these items, as well as a plethora of other great stuff by heading to and that's not all. I have partnered with Sara to get you an extra 15% off if you use my discount code: NICKIE15 which gives you 15% of your ENTIRE order.

Misa Jane also still has their Summer Grab bags available at this time. That means you can get three specially curated sale items for $45 and YES you can use the discount code towards that purchase! That makes it $38.25 for THREE awesome Misa Jane items! That's a steal!
